PARABLES: MILAN WAS HAVING A DISCUSSION WITH A YOUNG STUDENT. MILAN WROTE DOWN HIS PRECEPTS IN CAPITAL LETTERS. THE STUDENT ASKED WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING AT ME. MILAN CALMLY SAYS I’M NOT SHOUTING AT YOU; I AM EMPHASIZING THE PRECEPT. WHY DO YOU FEEL THAT I AM SHOUTING AT YOU WHEN I WRITE DOWN A PRECEPT. YOU KNOW THAT I ALWAYS SPEAK TO YOU CALMLY. THE YOUNG STUDENT REPLIED THAT HIS COMPUTER TEACHER EMPHASIZES THAT TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS IS SHOUTING. MILAN ASKED THE STUDENT, “DIDN’T YOUR PROFESSOR TEACH THAT TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS ALSO MEANS TO EMPHASIZE A THOUGHT, A WORD, OR AN IDEA.” THE STUDENT REPLIED THAT HE DID NOT. MILAN REPLIED THAT YOUR PROFESSOR SEEMS TO HAVE SOME VERY SERIOUS LIMITATIONS. MILAN THEN ASKED THE STUDENT WHY HE WISHES TO BE THE PRISONER OF HIS TEACHERS LIMITATIONS. MILAN REMINDED THAT STUDENT THAT HIS PURPOSE IS TO GROW BEYOND HIS TEACHERS; NOT TO BE STAGNATED AS A PRISONER OF HIS THOUGHTS. REMEMBER THAT EDUCATION IS SUPPOSED BROADEN YOUR VIEWS ON LIFE; IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO LIMIT YOUR VIEWS. THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION IS GROWTH, NOT STAGNATION OR LIMITATIONS. EmilKoval©2013
